How to know when you are having Sciatica

Your first impulse might be to take an over the counter pain reliever when you experience discomfort but that might not be the smartest thing to do. It’s best to get it checked out particularly if it becomes more frequent as you may have Sciatic nerve damage.

Leg Pains

While a lack of potassium or a simple “Charlie-Horse” may be to blame for leg cramps, this can also be a symptom of sciatica. While you may not be able to alleviate any numbness you may feel in your feet, there are several exercises you can do to lessen the cramping in your legs. The first order of business, however, if you are having repeated instances of cramping, is to see your physician to determine what the problem is being caused by . Buttock and hips aches

In the early days, one symptom you may find is an ache in your leg. As time progresses this may gravitate either towards the top of your frame, or even towards the bottom of your body into the calves or the feet. A further symptom is shooting pains, which may vary in severity. You should consult a doctor to get medication for this and have a general chat about the condition. You may also notice an aching of the hips irrespective of your posture which is also linked to the illness. Sharp pains which shoot up and down your body are a classic sciatic symptom. If you have any suspicion that you have the illness, you should speak to your doctor to have it confirmed or cleared.
