Sciatica is a continuously misunderstood cause of lower back and leg pain. It produces multiple symptoms and it is not just a state. It is continuously caused by a herniated disc, a vertebra (spinal part) that is not properly aligned by a disc that has become worn.

Mostly back pain and leg pain comes because of pressure in sciatic nerve. The cause can be a spinal disc hernication. Spinal disc herniation means normally the nerve passes through vertebra, if there is herniation the spinal chord may no longer support the nerve  and finally the nerve gets pressed. The treatment is to remove compression and physical support is needed for relieving from decompression.

Ninety percent of cases  are cured with the removal of compression of the disc, so that the disc will relax and recover. Hereditary also plays an important role in a person having a ruptured disc. The treatment is the same for all suffering from this condition. The best treatment is to rest and have a back support. You can also relieve the pain to an extent by means of massage. A professional masseur or masseuse will know the right way to massage the muscles in the areas experiencing the pain and can suggest various exercises that will relieve you.
